The question across the group

Every dollar Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Oracle spend on data centers is revenue for chip companies like NVIDIA and Broadcom. Investors will reward that spending only if cloud and ad growth keep pace with it. Watch whether spending guidance rises again and whether Google Cloud, Azure, AWS and Oracle's backlog hold up. If spending rises while growth slows, expect the chip stocks to feel it too.

Our read going in

  • Alphabet (#1) is our top pick on the whole Hundred. Search, YouTube and Google Cloud fund one of the strongest AI positions in the market, and the shares still look cheap for that quality.

  • Meta (#3): AI is making its ads more effective, which is the clearest return on AI spending among the biggest spenders.

  • Microsoft (#2) and Amazon (#57) are Holds. Both are outstanding businesses, but their prices already assume the heavy AI spending pays off.

  • NVIDIA (#43) and Broadcom (#4): the two chip names on this list are both Buys on the Hundred, and both report on their own fiscal calendars after the spenders.
